Vista West Recognized at the Platinum Level by the California PBIS Coalition

According to the nationwide PBIS website, PBIS is an evidence-based three-tiered framework created to improve and integrate all the data, systems and practices that affect a student’s everyday outcome. It is a formal process that is developed on school campuses to surround the student with support from all sides.

Vista West focuses on building a campus culture that promotes the Gator R.U.L.E; Respect, Understanding, Leadership and Effort. Staff and teachers work together to monitor and counsel students as specific behaviors are recognized. Behavior, Academic and Attendance flow charts are used to guide all students through a series of positive re-enforcements and interventions before discipline is enforced.

Students on Vista West’s campus have access to a wide array of supports, including a fully stocked ‘Gator Pantry,’ an on-campus substance abuse specialist, social worker, multiple interventionists and counselors, as well as a variety of student support groups.

Vista West is honored to be recognized for the hard work and dedication our team consistently demonstrates aimed at creating a positive learning environment for all students.
